Just got Jack on my Facebook..just found him. My husband, Tom Shemek and I worked for Jack on the farm in Kentucky..Tom worked for him as a groom for many years and was acquainted with Jack's dad, Marion...and his mom. I worked in the office on the farm for a year and lived in one of jack's houses on the farm. Loved Kentucky!!!

Race FundJack Van Berg February 6 . My Dad, Art Kelley raced with Jack's Dad, Marion back in Nebraska and Illinois and he remembers when Marion claimed his first horse at Fairmont Park, the horse's name and who Marion claimed it from. Dad is 94 years young and still has a great memory for his age. Jack sent him a hat this past summer and signed it for him. Jack also helped our organization raised funds for our online auction last spring so we can continue to help thoroughbreds in need of retirement and rescue. Thank you Jack and hats off to you.

What an awesome man he is! Never met a stranger. He always acted like he knew you forever. He knows more about horses than anyone....and has more stories to tell than anyone ever! There is no one I would rather sit and listen to than Jack! Love him....had some wonderful times with him!

Chris, so happy you are doing this for Jack and for the Sport I love! I galloped horses for Jack for a short while.....I bribed him with my stuffed artichokes for the job. I've always admired and loved Jack for the gritty man he is, the soft teddy bear of a man he is. Look forward to my autographed copy! xo Marla

I am so pleased that you are writting this book about Mr. Jack! Never met the guy but he has had me since Sheeba days. Loved his ethics in life so much and he was not afraid to say things the way they really were/are. I wish I could get a signed copy but actually I just really want a copy of the book to read and probably re-read. I am sure it will be very fascinating from cover to cover.

Jack is the greatest. I am proud to say that I worked for him for two years. It was hard work and long hours but I enjoyed every moment. Jack has a great heart and a great smile. I learned so much from working in his stable.

Congratulations on the writing of this facinating book about a facinating Hall of Fame trainer! And, we all will enjoy the first running of the Van Berg Stakes race at the Fairgrounds.
